Grotta  di Tiberio

One of the most characteristic towns of the whole province. It is risen on the rocky spur of  Monte S.  Magno and practically intact it preserves his original nucleus with a Mediterranean typica taste, with white constructions, lanes and scalette (stairs) that go down up to the sea and heart of the summer worldly life for the presence of numerous places and typical meetings. The city owes his picturesque structure to it's needs her/it to oppose a valid defensive system against the pirates that raged from the sea. The original calm of the site has made of Sperlonga the favorite place of vacation of the Romans and, particularly, of the emperor Tiberio of whose villa is visible looking forward to the promontory of the SS Flacca. Numerous are the things to visit. It deserves a detail mention the so-called cavern of Tiberio. In this same district is found the National Archaeological Museum that picks up, besides, important tied up marmoreal groups to the legend of Ulisse to a large amount of remains  recovered in the same area and in the cavern. Turistic  Sperlonga, developed  directly on the sea, and has great charm particularly in the beautiful beaches of the Canzatora, D'Angolo, Bazzano and of the Bambole.
